=> Bus Topology <=
Advantages of bus topology-
1. It is very easy to set up, handle.
2. It is widely used in small network.
3. It set up cost is very less.
Disadvantages of bus topology-
1. It transmission speed depends on number of nodes(systems). because nodes increase the traffic load on bus and reduce efficiency of network.
---------------------------------------
2. It topology depend on central bus. So if any fault generates in the bus leads to network failure.
---------------------------------------
3. Bus topology is not much better in the case of security reason. because the data which is transmitted from any node(system) has been travel through every node.
---------------------------------------
=> Ring Topology <=
Advantages of ring topology-
1. In this topology central server is not required.
because in ring topology the data being transmitted between two nodes.
-------------------------------
2. It gives equal access speed to the every resource.
--------------------------------
3. The uni-direction ring topology provides very high speed of data transmission.
---------------------------------
4. The maintenance of ring topology is easy then bus.
Disadvantages of ring topology-
1. In this topology if any node get damaged or breakdown then all systems that are connected to this damage system are get effected.
----------------------------
2. The changes of nodes in network effect on the whole network's performance.
------------------------------
3. In this topology data sent from one node to another has to pass through intermediate nodes.This thing makes the transmission slow.
=> Mesh Topology <=
Advantages of mesh topology-
1. In this topology the failure of single node does not cause the whole network to fail.
-------------------------------
2. It efficiency is not dependent on the number of nodes.
---------------------------------
3. We can easily identify the fault in this topology because all the nodes in this pattern are connected one another point to point.
Disadvantages of mesh topology-
1. This topology is very costly.because a lot of cabling is required.
---------------------------------
2.The maintenance is very difficult.
=>Star Topology<=
Advantages of star topology -
1.In this topology if any one cable or node fail then all the other devices will not be effected.
------------------------
2. The speed of data transmission is very fast.
-------------------------
3.We can easily add and remove nodes very easily in it.
Disadvantages of star topology-
1. In this topology we need extra hardware like switches or hubs.
--------------------------
2. If any switch or hub fails, then all the devices connected to it, will be lost network connection.
---------------------------
3. The set up cost of it is expensive.
