OSI stands for "Open Systen Interconnection".The Open systems Interconnection (OSI ) framework is the conceptual framework made by the International organisation for Standardization which enables different communication organizations to communicate with different types of Operating Systems(like- windows os,mac, linux etc.) using common protocols. In simple English, the OSI offers the standard for other expert systems to be able to interact with each other. Although the contemporary Internet doesn’t strictly take the OSI framework (it more closely is the simpler Internet rule suite) , the OSI framework is even really important for troubleshooting network problems. Whether it’s one individual who will ’t take their laptop on the net, or the network website existing down for thousands of users, this OSI framework will help to break down the problem and isolate the source of the trouble. If the question can be narrowed down to one particular structure of this framework, a lot of unnecessary work will be avoided.

The OSI framework isn’t itself the networking reference in the one sense that Ethernet and TCP/IP exist. Instead, the OSI Model is the framework into which the different Operating Systems (Like Windows os, mac os, linux etc.) can communicate together easily. The OSI framework defines what aspects of The system’s process will be addressed by different system measures. Thus, in a way, the OSI Model is kind of the measure’s value. There are 7 layers available in this model to interconnects different OS. These first three layers are sometimes called the lesser strata. They deal with the mechanics of how data is sent from one machine to another at the web. Layers 4–7 are sometimes called these top strata. They deal with how applications interact to this system through use programming interfaces.

The section categorizes various system functions into several layers of the OSI framework. While important for understanding how packets go through the system, The OSI framework itself is not a strict requirement as much as it is the conceptual framework — not every rule can fit perfectly within the single structure of the OSI framework.
